15. In The Story of The Lagoon.By : Joseph ConradIn vivid language, Conrad describes the setting with its impressive stillness. In your opinio why does he give it such importance? Why is the title an appropriate one for the story?

Answer:

Explanation:

The setting of a story can often play a significant role in shaping the mood and tone of the narrative, and in Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness," the stillness of the environment creates an eerie and unsettling atmosphere. The stillness is described as "brooding" and "mournful," which suggests a sense of foreboding and unease. The importance of the stillness may be to create a sense of isolation and loneliness, as if the characters are trapped in this environment with no escape.

Furthermore, the stillness of the setting may represent the stillness of the hearts and minds of the characters. The characters are depicted as being consumed by darkness, corruption, and madness, and the stillness may be a reflection of the inner turmoil that they are experiencing. The stillness may also symbolize the lack of progress or movement in the story, as the characters are unable to break free from their respective states of mind.

In terms of the title, "Heart of Darkness" is an appropriate one for the story because it suggests a journey into the depths of the human psyche. The darkness may refer to the corrupt and evil nature of the characters, or it may refer to the darkness of the environment in which the story is set. The heart may refer to the center or core of the human experience, and the journey into the heart of darkness may symbolize the exploration of the darkest aspects of the human experience. Ultimately, the title captures the essence of the story and the themes that Conrad is exploring, making it an apt and fitting title.

Answer:

Conrad is 21 y.o.

Joel is 14 y.o.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let 'x' be Conrad's age

'y' be Joel's

x = y + 7

(x -7) = 2(y -7)

Substitute equayion 1 to equation 2

y + 7 - 7 = 2y -14

2y - y = 14

y = 14

Substitute

x = y + 7

x = 14 + 7

x = 21

25. What should conrad include to his meals to ensure that he getting are the nutrients indicated in the food pyramid

What should Conrad include to his meals to ensure that he getting are the nutrients indicated in the food pyramid?

I ‘am not sure what Conrad prefers to eat, but based on the food pyramid, he should be eating more vegetables and other plant-based food. Meat, fish, and poultry are also important.

I do have questions about the validity of the food pyramid’s authority when it comes to correct nutrition.

For example, it tells everyone to consume more carbohydrate-rich food, even though it is proven to increase the risk of Diabetes since carbohydrates are converted by the body into sugar.

I would suggest looking at the diet of populations from the rural areas, I have a feeling that they have this correct diet mystery solved long ago, they are leaner and they live longer compared to people who live in urban areas.
